We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Community Engagement Officer to join a prominent Government infrastructure team. This role is pivotal in delivering communication and engagement strategies that keep the community informed and involved in local projects. Position Details

  • Pay Rate: $45-$50 per hour + super
  • Location: Fortitude valley, 4006
  • Contract Length: until 28 June 2026, with a possibility of extension.
  • Work Hours: 36.25 hours per week (5 x 7.25-hour days).

Role Responsibilities

In this role, you will support senior officers in the execution of communication strategies for various infrastructure projects. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Delivering communication and engagement strategies for discrete activities and infrastructure projects.
  • Developing high-quality communication collateral, including newsletters, works notices, web copy, briefing notes, and customer correspondence.
  • Managing day-to-day stakeholder engagement, including handling phone inquiries and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Identifying and managing initial risks and issues related to project communications.
  • Supporting broader media and corporate communication activities as required.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience: 6 months to 3 years of experience in a communication-based role
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Strategic Thinking: A curious and strategic mind with exposure to developing engagement strategies.
  • Project Exposure: Previous experience with infrastructure projects is considered a bonus but is not mandatory.
  • Compliance: You must be willing to undergo a Criminal History Check (Mandatory).
